Kenyan man kills girlfriend in Uganda

Police in Uganda has launched a manhunt of a Kenyan man who killed his girlfriend before fleeing.

According to Luke Oweyisigire, Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, the suspect has been identified as called Henry Ochieng.

Police reports indicate that Ochieng killed his girlfriend, Caroline Wanjiru, after suspecting that he was cheating on her.

According to neighbours, the two usually quarrel frequently so much that they had gotten used to it.

”They often quarreled whenever the girl visited Ochieng. Even this time round they fought and quarreled but we never expected that it would end in Ochieng killing his  girlfriend.” Lucy Akello, one of their neighbours said.

The late Wanjiru works in one of the hotels in Kampala. On the fateful date, he had visited her boyfriend who lives in Kampala’s suburb of Kabowa when the incident occurred.

Police found bricks at the scene of the crime which they suspect Ochieng used to kill his girlfriend.

Workmates of Wanjiru have condemned the killing of their colleagues and are calling for justice.
