The territorial police in the Western Uganda district of Rukiga have arrested a health worker, Darius Orikiriza, 38yrs and an enrolled nurse attached to Mparo health center 4 and resident of the health center quarters Mparo ward Rukiga district, who is alleged to have raped a 20yrs Elizabeth Orishabaa resident of Maaya cell.

According to area police spokesman, Elly Maate it is alleged that on 21/08/2023 the victim who is 7 months pregnant had gone for a medical checkup at the said medical facility, and, she was referred to the scanning department which was being operated by now the suspect.

As reported by NewVision, On arrival, she was directed to remove her clothes and was accordingly forced into the unfortunate ordeal.

She immediately informed the medics in charge of the facility who later informed police for further management.

A team of detectives commanded by the district police commander documented the scene and arrested the suspect, Swabs were obtained from the victim and the suspect by the health workers from the same facility for onward submission to GAL for analysis, and the suspect tested for his HIV status.
