Coronavirus may be changing the sex industry but we shall bounce back
If a time like this last year someone told you that face masks would be part of fashion, washing hands part of doctor’s prescription, working from home a lifestyle, handshakes and hugging a taboo, self-isolation a commendable practice only for those who care about the future of the human race, you would have laughed it off as insanity.
Well, this insanity is now the new normal!
Every day today is a fight for survival.
Among those fighting for survival literally are escorts whose lives have been turned upside down by Covid-19. As people continue to stay at home, many escorts are finding it difficult to work.
No handouts, only HTML (hands to mouth)
Furthermore, commercial sex is illegal in many countries and thus the majority of escorts have been left on their own with no handouts from the government and no one to turn to for support.

With clients hiding from Corona and patrons hoarding their money, escort earnings have taken a plunge.
Some have left work altogether owing to the closure of popular hunting grounds such as pubs and strip clubs.
The few women of abilities who have taken the risk to continue offering essential services in lockdown are now surviving on HTML (hand to mouth).
Others are scared of passing more than thigh juice to their clients or collecting more than semen and money from them.
Nevertheless, necessity is the mother of invention. In these unsettling times, we have noticed a few trends which continue to offer a ray of hope:
Preferences have changed and now the industry survival is hinged on local patrons
The industry’s survival is now hinged on local patrons (Image/Cosmopolitan) With travel bans threatening tourism, escorts are now looking closer home for work.
This is especially true in areas where escorts who were used to serving foreigners such as Rwanda.
As with new relationships, this new dynamic is not without challenges.
Seamstresses are complaining that some of the local clients who want free photos, porn, and free sex.
Total lockdown has led to a demand for sex videos and nudes
Whether kakyabali/kachabali or masturbation videos, sex consumers have been forced to shift from touching to watching in places with total lockdowns such as Uganda and Rwanda. The transaction between escorts and clients begins and ends online. However, videos and nudes do not provide enough money to meet the escorts’ basic needs.
Multipurpose booze is part of safe sex during coronavirus

Alcohol is no longer something clients share with girls to break the ice; it has now become a key ingredient in hand wash. Escorts and their clients must wash with alcohol-based sanitisers before exchanging any fluids.
Just like condoms, lubricants and massage oils, thermometer guns, sanitizers, and face masks are now essential tools of the trade.
Find a safe place to meet escorts in Kenya
This goes to show just how the coronavirus pandemic has changed the sex industry but we shall bounce back with a bang.
All is not gloom and doom. Slowly but surely, many escorts as are other business people are trooping back to work. None of the escorts across our platforms in Africa has reported signs and symptoms of the virus, and so are the patrons.
We hope this will remain so and wish you all good health even as things return to normalcy.
