Thugs rape sex workers

A group of thugs invaded a brothel in the outskirts of Uganda’s capital Kampala and gang-raped a dozen sex workers.

The brothel that was invaded is located at the Bwaise trading center, some 4 kilometers from Kampala along Kampala Gulu highway.

A local leader who stays near the brothel, Osman Kakindu said about 15 men armed with crude weapons forced their way into the brothel.

”It was around 8.00 pm when a group of about 15 men welding machetes forced their way into the brothel and attacked the sex workers,”

Mr. Kakindu added that immediately the thugs entered the brothel, they started beating the sex workers while demanding for mobile phones and money.

”After robbing them of their money and phones they started gang-raping the sex workers,” said Kakindu.

To make matters worse, the sex workers didn’t raise any alarm for fear it would attract policemen and army men who patrol the area to enforce COVID19 curfew and subsequently arrest them too.

One of the sex workers who managed to flee from the thugs by running to his house reported to him what was taking place in the brothel.

Upon hearing of their ordeal, Mr. Kakindu hurriedly went to the nearest police post and reported the matter. He was then accompanied by 5 armed policemen who went to save the women.

When the police entered the brothel they found the thugs busy fucking the sex workers.

The thugs were arrested but others fled through the back door when they got wind of the police.

One of the affected sex workers, name withheld, said that she was gang-raped by three thugs who did not use any condoms.
