Pornhub’s Parent Seeks Help From Government To Make Porn Normal And Boring
We Want To Make Porn Boring: Pornhub Owners
Pornhub owners have asked the government to stop cracking down on porn and rather take pride in sexual expressions and make pornography normal and boring. Canadian private equity firm Ethical Capital Partners (ECP) purchased Pornhub’s parent MindGeek about three months ago bringing it under its control some of the sites such as You Porn. ECP founder Solomon Friedman talked openly in an interview with AFP about the issue his company faced after the acquisition and what it had done to delete sexually abusive content on its websites.
The new owner of Pornhub in an AFP interview said, “Instead of cracking down on porn websites, governments should take pride in sexual expression and help to make porn normal and ‘boring’”
He revealed that people have become proud of sexual expression. “I think society has moved in the direction where we are proud of sexual expression,” said Ethical Capital Partners’ Solomon Friedman. “The fact that it’s adult is going to be boring, just like the fact that (legalised) cannabis in Canada has become boring,”
Mind Geek got into trouble in 2020 when the New York Times alleged that its sites were hosting pornography material that depicted sex with minors eliciting pressure from various regulators in different countries. Pornhub owners spent two years trying to sell the pornography firm that is largely based in Canada, with its headquarters in Luxembourg.
The firm’s new owners include an Italian investor, two lawyers and an ex-police officer who are keen on distancing themselves from the past allegations from the New York Times. Friedman asserted that the company has since changed over the years.
