Sista Afia Recounts Nearly Recording Diss Track After Ex-lover married Another Woman
Sista Afia revealed details about a past heartbreak in an interview with Hitz FM on 6th June 2024. During the interview, she revealed that her last emotional turmoil was in 2017.
Afia confessed that her past lover was in another relationship without her knowledge and even married another woman without her knowledge. This experience was so painful to the point that she almost recorded an entire album in a bid to express anger.
She said, “The last time I had one was in 2017. I almost recorded a diss album for him. It hurt me badly. I did not do anything wrong. All I did was love a man and be there for him.
“He went to marry another girl while I was there. He didn’t tell me. I didn’t even know that he was dating someone else,”.
She, however, disclosed that she and her ex-partner have sorted out their differences and are now good friends.
“We’re very good friends now. It was never about me. He’s been apologising for months now. He wants to marry me now. But it’s too late,” she said.
Francisca Gawugah is well known as Sista Afia, an Afro-pop and Afrobeat artist. She’s a niece to a popular Ghanaian Bishop Duncan Williams. She was born and bred in Ghana and attended the Afia Kobi Ampe Girls Senior High School before taking to the United Kingdom to study Nursing.
Sister Afia returned to Ghana in 2015 to commence her music career and made her first collaboration with Bisa Kdei kro kro no became her first release as a musician.
Afia also gained recognition after she released her single “Jeje” which featured artists Shatta Wale and Afezi Perry. She also released the album ” Queen Solomon” in 2018.
