Hundreds of Sex workers flock village

Residents of Gayaza village located in Wakiso District in Central Uganda are up in arms after hundreds of sex workers flocked into their village and set base.

According to one of the village elders, Evans Mukasa, the huge number of sex workers operate 24 hours, 7 days in a week.

“In the last 3 months many sex workers have come to our village and set up a brothel called Texas. There are over 200 sex workers in that place and include girls as young as 16 years, those in twenties, thirties and some in their early 40s.” Mukasa said.

The brothel is strategically located near the road making it easy for clients to access the place.  As early as 5:00 PM the sex workers start selling sex by standing in front of a verandah of a huge building from where they operate while wearing very short dresses revealing their sweet ebony thighs that can tempt the pope.

One of the sex workers only identified as Kawomera says that it is unfortunate that members of the village want them gone yet the place has been very good for business.

“This place is very good for our business. It is not far from Kampala which enables many men who need our service to come easily in big numbers to enjoy our services.” she said.

We want them Gone

The villagers fear that the sex workers will teach their children bad manners. Sheila Namazzi, a village resident says that it is shameful for their village to host such a big number of sex workers.

The villagers claim that they have contacted police and requested them to send away the sex workers but up to now nothing has been done. A police officer at a nearby police post, however, said that they have gotten complaints from some of the residents and they will soon swing to action.
