A new survey finds that people are turning to LinkedIn to find dates. LinkedIn boasts the largest professional networking site but the site is becoming more than a place to find jobs.” With Google searches for “how to meet people for dating” up a whopping 200 per cent since 2021, a survey of 505 single adults between the ages of 20 and 40 conducted by DatingNews.com found that 52 per cent of participants used LinkedIn as a dating site. For those aged 35 to 40, a whopping 61 per cent found a date on the professional networking platform.” reports StudyFinds

Last year, a popular Tiktoker Candice Gallagher began a series dubbed “10 weeks of dating apps.” In her fourth week, Candice revealed that her targeted playing field was LinkedIn. A commenter asked her why she chose the professional app to find love, the Tiktoker made a response that went viral. In her Tiktok response, Candice asserted that she preferred the networking app due to its filter system. The Tiktoker said, “Number one: I can filter for an education … Number two: I can filter by industry. I’m looking at a doctor, lawyer, and finance bro. Number three: I can filter by country, which is very important.”

One LinkedIn user Christina-Lauren Pollack claimed that dating on LinkedIn works since she is dating a top executive that she met on LinkedIn. She said, “I dated a top executive at a major media company that I met on LinkedIn (as I was building a network for my startup). So yeah, it works.”

According to LinkedIn’s community policies, it doesn’t accept people who use the platform as a “dating site”. The policies read, “LinkedIn is a professional networking platform, not a dating site. Do not use LinkedIn to pursue romantic connections, ask for romantic dates, or provide sexual commentary on someone’s appearance or perceived attractiveness. Do not send unwanted advances in messages, posts, or comments or send sexually explicit images to anyone on the platform,”
