French President Adresses Rumours That His Wife Is Transexual
French President Emmanuel Macron addressed transphobic rumours that are going around about his wife Bridge on Friday. According to the Daily Mail, Macron dismissed rumours that his wife was assigned male at birth. He addressed the rumours during a ceremony that was held after signing new protections for abortion in the French constitution.
Macron asserted, “The worst thing is the false information and fabricated scenario. People eventually believe them and disturb you, even in your intimacy.”Macron denied the rumours saying that it was a case of misogyny that most women are experiencing on the internet.
The rumours have spread since last summer when two women, Natacha Rey and Amandine Roy appeared in a French court after they were fined for defamation.
Last month, Tiphiane Auyiere, Macron’s step-daughter reignited some speculation about her mother after discussing the rumours about her mother in a recent interview with Paris Match. She asserted, “I have concerns about the level of society when I hear what is circulating on social networks about my mother being a man,” The duo got married in 2007 after meeting when the now-president Macaron was a high school student.
