Detectives are investigating whether a Nairobi church has encouraged members to have sex with one another.
Detectives got to work after receiving a tip about the strange events occurring at a structure in Uthiru, where locals had first believed it to be a real church before beginning to question its beliefs after learning it was actually a cult encouraging immorality.
A mysterious online whistleblower named Martha Mwihaki Hinga brought the church concealed between the communities of Uthiru Marigu-ini and Mabatini to public attention.

Locals started coming out to talk freely about the church’s murky side after Martha revealed what goes on within the building. The primary activity at the church, whose true leader(s) remain a mystery, is sex orgies staged as sermons.
Locals claim that young people make up the majority of the followers and that female members typically wear skimpy clothing, which has led to some enquirers’ and skeptics’ raised eyebrows.

According to theNairobian, a source revealed that the preacher spreads the idea that because Adam and Eve were naked in the Garden of Eden, nudity is acceptable. The source said, “The church rides on false doctrine pegged on the Garden of Eden biblical episode depicting Adam and Eve. The lead pastor teaches that no one is owned by anyone and, therefore, you can sleep with anyone in the church. They have no problem with lesbians or gays. This church should not only be closed but the followers hauled into court and charged.”

Ruiru, Molo, and Ongata Rongai are believed to be the locations of Uthiru cult branches where members participate in sex orgies while attending meetings. A follower of the whistleblower revealed, “They say that they want to go back to the Garden of Eden where nothing was hidden, and there is no one’s wife or husband. They say you can have sex with anyone including your own kids; it’s very appalling that they engage in sex openly and followers are meant to believe that marriages are made in hell.”

Followers claim that the senior pastor instructs them that the Garden of Eden’s fruits reflect people who are free to engage in unrestrained sex. Officers from the Kabete Police Station carried out a raid after receiving complaints about the church’s peculiar beliefs. Six people were taken into custody, and they are now being held on suspicion of involvement in terrorism, though the investigation is still ongoing.
The accused were initially charged in a Kibra court before being sent to the Kahawa court, which often hears cases involving terrorism.
