Stealing Hearts and More: Kenyan Sex Workers’ Daring Arrest in Uganda Heist
Two Kenyan sex workers arrested in Uganda while shoplifting in a supermarket.
The two have been arrested in Safari Supermarket located in Busia town,located at the border of Kenya and Uganda.
According to the Manager of Safari Supermarket, Felix Otto, the two women walked into the supermarket and went to the extreme corner where there were stalls for expensive perfumes.
“They had shorts with big pockets under their skirts. By the time they came in there were not many customers so they thought no one would see them placing the items they were shoplifting in the pockets under their skirts.”
He said that unknowing to the women, the supermarket has CCTV cameras and someone at the counter was watching all they wee doing on the monitor.
As they came to the counter they each picked a bread a pack of milk which they were going to pay for.
They were arrested by the Supermarket guard after being alerted by the one who was monitoring. On being ransacked bottles of perfumes were found under their skirts.
People converged at the Supermarket with intention of lynching the two women. Some of their fellow Kenyan sex workers who were passing by saw their colleagues being harassed and they pleaded on their saying they were ready to pay for the stolen items
The management accepted and they paid for the items. However even after paying the crowd that had gathered at the Supermarket wanted to pass their own judgement.
The Police were called and they arrested them and took them to Busia police station.
