Taxi Driver in Namibia on the Spot for Defiling Minor

An incident of a seven-year-old deaf girl who was allegedly raped by a taxi driver in Namibia while being driven to school in Ongwediva has been reported by the Oshana police.

The victim’s mother reported the event, which occurred on Monday. The driver’s identity and current whereabouts are unknown, but the police are looking for him, according to warrant officer Ndapunikwa Ashiyana of the Oshana police.

“Parents, please let’s watch our kids, especially those who wake up early to walk to school. Escort the kids and wait for the taxi with them. We really need to be vigilant and take extra care of the children. Don’t just trust anyone with your child, do a background check of the taxi drivers before trusting them with your children,” cautioned Ashiyana.
