Channii Monroe Accuses Music Producer The-Dream of Rape and Sexual Battery
Terius Gesteelde-Diamant, alias The-Dream is facing serious allegations from former protege Chanaaz Mangroe popularly known as Channii Monroe. Mangro accuses The Dream of sexual battery, sex trafficking and rape painting a picture of a manipulative relationship that began under the pretext of boosting her music career.
According to Mangroe, in 2015, The Dream lured her with promises of stardom but subjected her to repeated sexual assaults, emotional manipulation and physical abuse.
Mangroe pressured her into sex and used coercion and threats including recording an intimate encounter and threatening to share the video.
Mangroe describes patterns of abuse and control including being locked in a dark room, being forced to have sex in public and being threatened with a gun during the sexual encounters.
In response to the allegations, The Dream has denied any wrongdoing terming the claims “untrue and defamatory”. He expressed deep sadness and offence over the accusations, asserting his commitment to helping others achieve their career goals without facing any harassment.
Mangroe’s lawsuit also accuses The Dream of sex-trafficking a claim seen in other high-profile cases inclusive of those against Sean Combs. This particular case highlights ongoing situations within the music industry where power dynamics may lead to abuse and exploitation.
