A number of heterosexual men are attracted to many features in a woman one of these features being the butt. Alot has been said about men’s fascination with women’s bums. Recent research shows that there is a logical reason behind this phenomenon. According to the study, a lot of men prefer women with bigger and curvier butts of about 45 degrees since it allows them to remain mobile during their pregnancy without the risk of injuring themselves. The study reports that women who lack such a curvature are likely to experience an increased pressure of about 800% on their hips during pregnancy.

According to the lead author of the study, David Lewis, “This spinal structure would have enabled pregnant women to balance their weight over the hips. These women would have been more effective at foraging during pregnancy and less likely to suffer spinal injuries. In turn, men who preferred these women would have had mates who were better able to provide for fetus and offspring, and who would have been able to carry out multiple pregnancies without injury.”

Dr David says it’s believed that male ancestors developed a sexual attraction to women with big bums since it increased their chances of bearing children who would live long enough to pass on their DNA. Another study by researchers at Bilkent University in Turkey interviewed 300 men to look at silhouettes of women with various different angles of spine curvature. Results showed that men were more attracted to silhouettes of women who had a spine curvature of 45.5 degrees.

Lewis believes that such findings offer an explanation for modern man’s obsession with round and big butts. In this age, men are directing their attention to the backside and gathering information about women’s spines. Even if they are not aware that they are doing so, that’s exactly what they are doing!
