Woman Charged for Cutting off Husband’s Private Parts

Court in Uganda has today charged and remanded a woman who led to the death of her husband after cutting off his private parts .According to prosecution, Harriet Ampiire,30, one week ago cut off the private parts of her husband Harbert Karamagi 35 after they had a brief quarrel. She reportedly waited for the husband to fall asleep before cutting off his private parts.

Karamagi sounded an alarm in pain and neighbors ran to his rescue. They carried him to a nearby hospital where he was admitted but died a few hours later. The incident took place in Kyotera town located at the border between Uganda and Tanzania. Ampiire fled to Tanzania. Ugandan police with help from Interpol tracked her and she was arrested and brought back to Uganda.

Kyotera chief magistrate, Ignatius Ategeka in his ruling said that murder case is a capital offense which is tried by high court and so he had no jurisdiction to hear
that case. He remanded her to Luzira maximum prison until August 14 when she will be brought back to court for mention of her case in high court.

The relatives of her late husband late by his brother Robert Karamagi said that all they want is justice.
