The Unexpected End of Popular Nollywood Actor Bolanle Ninalowo’s Marriage 

 

Is love ever enough? This is the question on the lips of every Nigerian as popular actor Bolanle Ninalowo recently announced his separation from his wife in a now-deleted Instagram post.

 

Bolanle Ninalowo, a 43-year-old Nigerian actor, initially pursued a career in accounting in the United States of America. Upon returning to Nigeria, he worked with Guaranty Trust Bank before embarking on his journey into the Nigerian movie industry. His rise in the entertainment world has been nothing short of spectacular, with notable roles in movies like “Far from Home,” “Breaded Life,” “Coming from Insanity,” “Picture Perfect,” and many more.

The talented actor has received numerous awards for his outstanding performances. He had been married for 18 years to his former heartthrob, Bunmi, with whom he shares two beautiful children.

 

In a candid interview with Chude Jideonwo, Nino, as he is fondly called, opened up about how his past infidelity had affected his marriage. He reflected, “I needed to take time back to see what I had done to her, the years when I was young and cheating all day, breaking her heart and everything, to the years where I wasn’t there, just pursuing my dreams”

 

“But I forgot this was a human being that was taking records and taking experiences of her life as well so I became somebody she didn’t recognize anymore. At some point I couldn’t call her to pick up my call. The same woman I had control over, I had no control over anymore because she outgrew me.”

 

It’s worth noting that the actor had previously announced the end of his marriage in 2017 but later reconciled. This time, their separation appears to be final, as evidenced by their actions on social media. Ninalowo’s Instagram posts featuring their beautiful pictures and videos have been deleted, and his wife’s Instagram page has been disabled.

Ninalowo’s recent Instagram post announcing his divorce reads: “Finally I accept the reality of the End to a Road!

A sad reality that gives room & hope for a brighter and more fulfilling future!

A reality that is SAD for my loving and adorable children but necessary for a peaceful and loveable future.”

 

He continues, “May God help me and reward me with all I truly deserve or punish me for all I have done wrong if that be the case.

In the end we will all live with the consequences of our actions.

Sad but real and true!

Now I have to do and be better for the sake of the same children I fought so hard never to be separated from.”

 

The news of their divorce has left Nigerians who were invested in their marriage shocked and saddened. 

On Instagram, Zaraeinadsignature expressed her disappointment saying, “I admired them so much”

Another user, Julietmadu.tech put the blame on him and commented, “Fear all this men dat praise their wife on social media…na dem dey cheat pass”.

 

Kynkies__place made a case for consensual non-monogamy when she said, “Open marriage should also be an option”.

 

Many hope for a reconciliation, as the couple had previously demonstrated their ability to overcome challenges while others think he is at fault because of his infidelity in the past and is hailing her for finally letting him go.

 

As we await further developments, we can’t help but wonder if love, even when deeply felt, can weather the storms that life brings.
