Sex Workers Invade Coffee Farming Area

The Women MP for Bukomansimbi district in South West Uganda Christine Ndiwalana has decried the growing number of sex workers in Kigangazi town council located in her district. Ndiwalana said the migration of sluts into the area follows appreciation in coffee prices which has caused men to seek companionship of prostitutes.This was during the prime ministers’ question time session chaired by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Thomas Bangirana Tayebwa.

She said in Kigangazzi town council, Bukomansimbi this season the coffee farmers have made money and it has attracted prostitutes from Lukaya town council (Kalungu district) and Masaka and other neighboring districts who have invaded the area thus hooking men who move with huge cash in exchange of sex.She said some sex workers kill the men and rob their money.

 Prostitutes Stabbing Young men 

She said three younger men have been killed by prostitutes pretending to be giving them the services but end up stabbing them to death. She says this evil has also caused domestic violence in homes where also married men are involved and also increased HIV rates.

Ndiwanala wants these prostitutes to be in Masaka city where there is an available market for them, in reply the Prime Minister Nabanja says LCs and police will work together and arrest these prostitutes so that coffee farmers enjoy their money.The Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa directed the prime minister to work with the Internal Affairs ministry to sort out this issue of illegality.
