Are You Kenyan? You Could Be on This List After KRA Impounded Sex Toys Are Set to Be Destroyed

It’s only in Kenya where contaminated sugar slips through tight security but no, not sex toys! A Tweep by the alias Kenn Maina™  sparked conversation after he released a list of names. According to theStar, On Monday of this coming week, the Kenya Revenue Authority will destroy unclaimed property from five stations in the Rift Valley.

The commodities will be disposed of until owners claim them at their Customs warehouses at Eldoret, Nakuru, Lodwar, Lokichoggio, and Suam stations, the taxman stated in a notice.

Sex toys, popular as dildos, panty vibrators, toy guns, used underwear, and handcuffs are some of the items that will be destroyed. Escorts in Nairobi offer sophisticated service, you would be shocked (in a good way) to learn about some of the ‘tools of trade’ they carry around.

According to the Gazette notice, some of the items have been in the Customs warehouses since as far back as 2016.

“Notice is given that unless the under-mentioned goods are entered and removed from the custody of the Customs Warehouse Keeper, within 30 days of this notice, they will be treated as abandoned and will be disposed of by destruction or otherwise disposed of in such manner as the Commissioner may direct on 22nd May 2022,” said Customs and Border Control Chief Manager in the Rift Valley region John Gathatwa.

Sex toys and artificial male organs make up a significant portion of the items destined for disposal. These items, which are frequently linked to private pleasure or adult entertainment, have drawn attention because of their outlandish character and the taboo surrounding conversations about sexual health.

Several locally produced beer brands, automobile tires, assorted medicines, various cigarette brands, bedsheets, body lotion, and seeds are also scheduled for destruction.

Well, Nim Notty is saddened. Sounds like one big party canceled! However, in light of the Kenyan government’s recent proposal to raise tax rates, the timing of this disposal announcement is noteworthy.

The government’s efforts to maximize revenue production and close budget deficits are in line with the destruction of these goods.
