Be Patient With Yourself
As terrible as the feelings may feel, avoid rushing the process. It may take days, weeks or even several months before you feel completely yourself once more and that’s totally normal.
Dr. Torres-Mackie advises “After a breakup, try to avoid self-judgment about how long you are still in your feelings about it. Healing is an individual process. It takes as long as it takes, and that’s ok.”
Write Your ex a Letter
Writing all your feelings down helps you to process your emotions. Since your thoughts may feel overwhelming therefore it’s advisable to put them down on paper to help you work through unresolved issues from the relationship.
The intention of writing the letter isn’t to send it but to let it all out. If you can give it some time you may feel a strong need to share your letter, instead ask your ex to meet you and have a conversation with them to address any lingering concerns.
