Tiktoker Brian Chira’s Uncles Share Details About His Sexual Orientation
The late Tiktoker Brian Chira’s uncles have defended his sexual orientation describing him as an exemplary student. During an interview with Nairobi News, Chira’s younger uncles narrated about his life defending him against rumours about his gay sexuality.
His uncles asserted, “As his uncles, we knew Brian as a church-going young man. There were rumours about his sexual orientation, even here. Some say he used to paint his nails. That was part of a beauty course he took to earn a living,”
In a past interview with Mpasho’s Kalondu Musyimi, Chira clarified his sexual orientation despite several rumours that he was gay. His dress code and makeup application left many social media users confused. He shared, “For me when I go on those lives with a full face beat and artificial nails it is because I am just trying to advertise my business and craft.I cry sometimes ebu imagine nimeenda mahali nauza tu switi zangu then mtu anasema ndio ule shoga anakuja just imagine”
His uncles also expressed their disappointment for not being able to give Brian Chira a proper sendoff as there was chaos during his funeral. “We faced many challenges growing up and we were embarrassed by some of Brian’s actions. It wasn’t what we wanted and his behaviour was unacceptable, but even today there was a lack of respect.
We wanted peace but it hasn’t happened. His funeral was not dignified; TikTokers took over and it wasn’t what we wanted. We had asked certain people to stay away from the grave, but they forced their way into the compound,”
Brian Chira was only 23 years old when he was involved in a hit-and-run accident in Karuri, Kiambu County. He was buried on Tuesday in his grandmother’s ancestral land located in Gathanje, Kiambu County on Tuesday, March 26.
