Ghanaian LGBTQ activist and open transgender musician Angel Maxine revealed that she’ll expose a list of Ghanaian politicians who are involved in LGBTQ+ activities if the anti-LGBTQ bill is passed. Maxine’s threats follow comments made by the Speaker of Parliament, Akban S.K. Bagbin that the anti-LGBTQ bill will be passed before the Parliament goes on recess for the festivities break.
Angel Maxine posted on Instagram a video that listed shortcomings by various parliamentarians championing the passing of the bill. Maxine asserted that she has a list of all MPs who are involved in LGBTQ+ if they go ahead to pass the bill.
The Ghanaian transgender took to social media with a pile of documents which allegedly contained chats and incriminating information about the politicians who are reportedly practising LGBTQ. She took to social media with threats to expose the politicians and their families.
She fumed, ” Pass the bill and I will show you your MPs who are LGBTQ persons. Do you think I have not seen gay politicians? All the MPs have been texting people to get them boys to sleep with. All of the politicians who have been begging pimps to hook them up with boys. All your chats and conversations are here ( Points to a pile of documents). Pass the bill and I will expose your family members and children who are gay. All those queer celebrities, also cannot speak for themselves. “
Maxine further chided the LGBTQ society in Ghana for “their lukewarm attitude” towards resisting the Anti-gay bill and for protecting their members. She said, “LGBTQ society in Ghana is always writing proposals. Proposals for what? This is the time to come out and fight. Don’t sit behind phones and tweet and text. This is why you receive funds from the donors. Come out and fight the community,” she added.
