Highlife musician Akwaboah tied the knot with his 28-year-old partner, Theresa, last month in a private wedding ceremony. The video of the wedding event attracted commentaries and numerous views with several observers suggesting that the musician appeared sickly.

Meanwhile, Akwaboah has addressed criticism after the wedding ceremony, particularly his motive of wiping his lips after he kissed his bride. He asserted that the gesture was not meant to mean that he didn’t enjoy the kiss, instead, he explained that he just wanted to avoid having his face looking weird since sometimes lipstick can smear after a kiss.

He said, “Nobody marries their enemies. That’s the choice I made, I’m happy about it,”

Akwaboah added, “I have performed at many wedding ceremonies. I have noticed that after the bride and groom kiss, the groom would have lipstick all over his lips. So, I didn’t clean because of what people were saying out there; I cleaned because I knew her lipstick would be all over my lips. So, for my face not to look awkward, I had to clean it,”
