Married Woman Abandons Her Husband and Elopes With Catholic Priest

Abdul Kasaddhakawo, a 50-year-old man is lamenting over his wife abandoning him. The man who works as a motorcycle mechanic in the eastern Uganda district of Jinja said in an interview with media at his home located in Walukuba village that he got information that his wife was taken away by a Catholic priest.

Without mentioning the name of the priest, he said that although he is a Muslim his wife is a Catholic. He said,” I did not mind my wife being a Catholic and I allowed her to go for Sunday services and other Church functions.”

He said that in the last six months, his wife started spending more time at the Church than at home. He said she gave excuses that she was a choir member and had to go to Church every day for practice.

Although she had to go every afternoon to Church for choir practice, she also went there in the mornings saying she went to sweep in the Church and clean the compound.

He said that although he heard rumours that the parish priest, a middle-aged Father loved his wife he did not take it seriously. But a month ago the priest was transferred to another place.5 days after he left for the new parish his wife also disappeared from his home. He said he got information that the priest rented for her a house near the Church where he was transferred. He said that he could not go for her but instead he is looking for another wife.
