Tragic End of a Late-Life Romance: 65 yr Old Man Kills Himself After Lover Ends 18 Month Relationship

A tragic incident occurred in the small town of Kisinga in Western Uganda district of Kasese, when a 65 yr old man, Gulirimu Isingoma Kihimba sadly took his own life after enduring heartbreak in his relationship.

According to Hill online publication, Kihimba had been in a committed relationship with a 60-year old woman for the past year and a half. However, the woman recently decided to end the partnership, reportedly moving into a separate rented room until such a time that Kihimba formalized their marriage.


This decision by his partner disappointed him and plunged him into a state of despair. In a moment of immense emotional pain, he succumbed to committing suicide.

The local police gave permission to the deceased relatives to bury the body.

The village leader, Patrick Muthanaba said in an interview that he as for some time been mediating between the couple during their 18-month courtship. He expressed solemn regret regarding Kihimba’s fateful decision, which he attributed to the verbal exchanges during the relationship’s dissolution.
